Well, based on demand for seats and projected higher fuel costs, airline tickets for the summer travel are going to be a bit more expensive for everyone.
According to data gathered by Travelocity.com, the average round trip airfare price jumped from $415 to $471. The great news is that much stronger summer bookings for 2010 point to a continued economic recovery, and renewed confidence about spending on vacations this year.
Now that does mean increased travel costs for business as well. But mounting evidence for an economic recovery–I’ll take that, as will many fellow business owners and CEOs I’m sure. Looks as though the economic comeback is for real, and the corporate housing and business travel industries should continue to see positive growth as well.
