If you’re looking for a post that is purely related to business travel or corporate housing, this one probably isn’t it. But here is a fun little diversion for those who spend a lot of their time away from home living in corporate housing or making a living on the road.
There’s a new trend, and even though the economy is picking up a little, it is a bit of a surprise. The movement toward leisure travel “staycations” has slowed a bit, and now folks are looking at booking trips to far away places again. That includes business travelers, too.
I suppose it is an encouraging sign for those of us who plan or take business trips on a regular basis. The costs of flying and traveling are becoming such that one can actually consider taking a vacation that doesn’t involve hitting a nice regional spa and a nearby Starbucks for a change.
For those not terribly familiar with Skyscanner, it is a website that allows users to search for the best flights, hotels and car rentals.
Here is Skyscanner’s list of the most searched-for destination’s on their site:
Most searched for countries by global Skyscanner users:
1. Spain
2. UK
3. USA
4. Italy
5. Germany
6. France
7. Turkey
8. Greece
9. Portugal
10. Poland
I have to say, most of these choices don’t surprise me. But Turkey, Greece (beautiful, but troubled at the moment) and Poland kind of do.
Bottom line for me? It’s great to see people enjoying, planning for and saving on travel again, business and leisure. Brighter days are ahead, to be sure.
